Children need to be loved, nurtured, and developed in their ability to enjoy the world. Learning is a never-ending journey throughout our life. Let our children learn the fun way. In this post, I will share recognizing the letters. Children need to identify letters which is part of their journey in learning to read. Reading is key to discovering a lot of knowledge. So, let’s have fun with Gingerbread Letter Recognition.
I have four activities for your children to learn as follows:
I bundled
all the above as well. All these activities are self-correcting Boom Cards. It
saves you time. Please click any of the above for a preview. For letter recognition, the children will learn to recognize uppercase and lowercase. They will match
the letters and click the right letter. They will also learn the sequence of each
letter in the alphabet.
Gingerbread
makes people happy. Our children need to be happy and fun in their journey of
learning. Featuring here is the gingerbread man running, fox, old man, old
woman, oven, gingerbread house, ginger trees, heart cookies, candy cane,
lollipop, and more.
You can
educate them as well. The fun way. Where is gingerbread originated from? I
think it is from Germany. They will have a sense of geography. Gingerbread can be
traced from ancient Greece and Egypt thousands of years ago. Tell them
about Texas Gingerbread house and other places in the world. It must be fun
knowing these facts.
Tell them
how gingerbread are made. Tell them the ingredients include ginger, cloves,
nutmeg, and cinnamon, cardamom, butter, milk and sweetened with honey or sugar.
You can describe the gingerbread is spicy and soft. That is a lot of fun.
I’ve
featured the old woman baking the gingerbread. You can describe the sweetness,
buttery, gingery, spicy scent of the gingerbread fresh from the oven. There is a variety of gingerbread such as brown gingerbread, honey gingerbread, wafer gingerbread, and many
more. There is a story as well. I’ve included the fox in the activity as well. You
can tell them the story of the Gingerbread man and the fox. You can read the story
to your children.
I have another theme for Letter Recognition activities as well.
