Summer Bar Graphs - Hot Dog Stand Themed

Picture this: a bustling summer day, filled with the happy sounds of laughter and the sizzling symphony of hot dogs. Four stands line up, each with a unique twist that makes their offerings irresistible.

To understand how the hot dog sellers compare with each other, we'll use a special kind of picture called a bar graph. It shows the number of hot dogs sold by each seller using bars of different heights.

It might look fancy, but it's like a bunch of colorful hot dogs standing side-by-side, showing how many each seller sold in five days.

Each colorful bar on the above chart shows exactly how many hot dogs each seller sizzled up and sold!

The height of each bar represents the number of hot dogs sold in five days.

Put your child's thinking caps on and analyze the bar graph.

How Many Hot Dogs Did Each Seller Sell?

Can you find the bar labeled "Jasmine"? The number next to it, a sizzling 260, tells us exactly how many yummy hot dogs she sold in five days!

See if you can find Jack, Emily, and David's bars too – and discover how many sizzling hot dogs they sell!

The tallest bar shows who sold the most hot dogs over the five days.

Let your child find out who sold the most Hot Dogs.

Let's take another challenge.

Jasmine has been grilling up delicious hot dogs all week, and to keep track of her sales each day, she tracked her hot dog sales each day in a bar graph.

The above bar graph shows how many hot dogs Jasmine sold each day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday).

Let your child look at the bar graph to find out how many hot dogs Jasmine sold on Wednesday?
